My Ability Care is a vibrant and committed service, spanning over 20 years of combined experience in the disability sector. We offer services that are holistic in nature and cater for everyone’s needs.

Who we are

My Ability Care has over 20 years of combined experience working in the disability sector and with disability communities. Established in 2018, My Ability Care strives to provide sustainable and effective services to people with disability, by catering to their specific needs as well as the needs of their families.

Our purpose is to promote ethical, respectful and safe service delivery which meets legislative requirements and achieves positive outcomes for people with disability.

Our vision

We want people with disability to have their right to freedom and their right to make decisions about their own lives. We want to offer them respect and dignity by guiding them in making the right choices for themselves.

We want to foster and maintain relationships with their families, friends, carers and advocates in safeguarding their rights by providing them with opportunities to be a part of their loved one’s journey.

Our Team

Co-founder & Director

Nasreen Hanifi

Holding executive leadership positions in various mental health clinics, Nasreen Hanifi brings years of practice and research experience to our purpose of creating a community with better mental health. As a psychologist and leader among the CALD community, Nasreen understands the community and the importance of mental health conversations. Her empathy, thought leadership and commitment to social impact is accompanied by cutting edge technical and academic excellence. She is currently pursuing a PhD in neuroscience and theology at Charles Sturt University.

Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer

Maywand Hanifi

Maywand is the co-founder and chief executive officer at My Ability Care. He comes with a wealth of experience from working in some of the largest disability organisations in NSW. He also has extensive experience in the criminal justice field helping many young people who have a dual diagnosis lead normal lives after incarceration. He has a Bachelors in Civil Engineering and a Bachelors in Organisational Leadership. He is also in the process of pursuing his Masters in Organisational Leadership. He is passionate about employee engagement and how leaders can better lead teams from the standard hierarchical system.

Maywand is also the recipient of multiple awards showcasing his immense ability in various fields.

Ghazal Hanifi

Ghazal has extensive experience in HR having graduated with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in HR. She is passionate about ensuring that staff needs are being met through the management of conflict and upskilling them through training and development. She is passionate about ensuring HR systems and processes are delivered efficiently and effectively within services. Ghazal is passionate about enhancing staff experiences by the promotion of training and growing a confident workforce.

Service Manager

Troy Carabott

Troy is our Service Manager managing all our supported accommodation and drop-in-support services. He comes with a wealth of experience in the disability sector having worked for various organisations before moving to My Ability Care. Troy has a strong passion in ensuring he provides exceptional support to all his team members and aims to create a service second to none for all our clients and their families. His team-work capability has enabled him to look after his staff which has reflected in the quality of life and support that client’s are currently receiving.

Compliance Officer

Belinda Hamburger

Belinda is currently the Compliance Officer at My Ability Care. She has worked for the last 30-years in the disability sector working closely with clients and their families. Her previous roles have been in both management as well as support coordination for various disability services. She is trained in sign language and use this skill to help clients who belong to the deaf community. She has a strong passion in making sure clients reach their goals and take action in ensuring they achieve them. Currently, she is working in making sure the compliance aspect of My Ability Care is being maintained and meet NDIS legislative requirements.

All plans are created and approved by NDIS. 

Yes, our service caters for all our clients and their families and we highly encourage families to be a part of their planning and reviewing process. We believe that that families deserve to continue to be a part of their loved one’s journey.

Yes, our service prides itself on ensuring that all our clients and their families receive the best care possible and their needs are being met. If a client or family member has an issue with a particular process or staff member then they can contact our HR department for further information. We want all our clients to feel comfortable when accessing our service and will strive to accommodate for their particular needs.
